1 Day Mistake-Proofing Workshop

Mistakes can bring huge costs to your business if they
get out into the market place. By eliminating product defects, your
business will not only reduce costs and waste, but also ensure customer
loyalty.
This one day Mistake-Proofing workshop focuses on teaching
your team how to keep errors from becoming defects using mistake-proofing
devices called poka-yoke. These devices go further than pin-pointing
problems in the manufacturing process. Unlike statistical-based techniques,
they actually eliminate them by checking and giving feedback about each
product or operation in the process, not just a sample.
Poka-yoke not only improves quality but also prevents
errors that can lead to equipment malfunction or failure. Importantly
this powerful tool relies on ingenuity, not spending lots of money.
What the workshop teaches
Workshop participants will learn how to develop and
implement devices that absolutely eliminate human error in fabrication,
assembly and process environments by using a step-by-step method to
analyse the creation of defects. The workshop teaches how to design
and implement simple mistake-proofing devices that:
- prevent defects at their source
- eliminate rework
- introduce low-cost 100% in-process inspection
- identify 'red flag' conditions that provoke errors

wanting to use mistake-proofing in their quality improvement teams and
